
As of 2025, I (John E. Bredehoft of Bredemarket) have been writing about identity for 30 years. I’ve written about fingers, faces, irises, DNA, driver’s licenses, geolocation, and many other ways to help establish an individual’s unique identity.
And while I’ve created identity content in a variety of customer-facing formats, including white papers, case studies, and e-books, one of my favorite ways to write about identity is via blog posts.
Why?
- Blog posts provide an immediate business impact. Other pieces of identity content are harder to access. You have to download a white paper or other document, and sometimes you even have to fill out a form before you can download the white paper. Blog posts are immediately accessible to the reader, and are almost immediately available via your favorite search engine.
- Blog posts are easy to share. Generally you don’t just write a blog post and let the traffic come to you. When I write an identity blog post to promote Bredemarket, I get the word out on my social channels, including identity-related channels on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and even TikTok. (Sorry, no Snapchat yet.)
- Blog posts are easy to repurpose. You can take the content from one or more blog posts and repurpose it in another format. For example, I took this blog post and repurposed it as an e-book, increasing its reach dramatically.
- I like writing blog posts. This isn’t a direct benefit to you, but it’s a benefit to me. Because blog post writing is so much fun, I’ve written thousands of blog posts over the last 20 years, and over 1,000 Bredemarket blog posts over the last five years, many of which relate to identity.
- I like writing about identity. I call myself a biometric content marketing expert because I’ve communicated about identity. A lot. I offer my clients (1) no identity learning curve, (2) no content learning curve, and (3) proven results.
But I haven’t just written blog posts for Bredemarket. I’ve written for Bredemarket clients, and for various employers, helping them to quickly get the word out about the benefits of their identity solutions.

Not that I necessarily consider myself equal to Aware or some of the other noted companies on the current list, but as the self-acknowledged identity/biometric blog expert, with hundreds of identity posts over the last three years, I figured I had a shot of making the list. The benefit to me, of course, is that if I made the list, I had a better chance of securing identity blog post writing clients and other clients.

Are you about to publish something about biometrics that requires a sanity check? (Hopefully not literally, but you know what I mean.)
Well, why not turn to a biometric content marketing expert?
