An odd link from Montclair to Ontario via two different songs that share a songwriter.
I recently created a Facebook video that used the song “Vehicle” by the Ides of March.
The song seemed perfect to accompany a story about an old Montclair business called Discount Uptown Casuals.

But what I didn’t know was that “Vehicle” was written by a man named Jim Peterik.
Who, after the Ides of March (v1.0) had run its course, co-founded a band called Survivor.
Where he co-wrote (but did not sing) a song called “Eye of the Tiger.”
And if you head east from Montclair from Costco you end up at Chaffey High School in Ontario, where you can hear the latter song ad nauseam.
So the connection is Palo Verde Avenue / 5th St.
